Juston Root, 41, is shot and killed by Boston police in Brookline.

A Mattapan resident suffering from bipolar disorder, Root had brandished a gun outside of Brigham and Women’s Hospital. After fleeing in his car, which he crashed near the Chestnut Hill shopping center, he is surrounded by police and shot 22 times. and where they police surround him and shoot him 22 times.
